Diary of a SAHM – Day 30
Today, we visited “Perpustakaan Siber Ilmu” @ AEON Jusco Bandar Perda. I love libraries and it’s simply awesome to find one in a shopping mall. What a great idea! Wouldn’t it be great if there’s a library in every shopping mall in Malaysia?
The plan was to ‘drop by’ to return library books and then borrow new ones (i.e. in and out in less than half an hour), BUT I got stuck here browsing for teaching materials as well as books for Joshayne and myself.
As we were not allowed to bring the stroller into the library, Kiate offered to take Joshayne to MrDIY (a hardware shop) instead. Kiate’s a handyman and he loves to check out the tools and stuff there. MrDIY is to Kiate what a library is to me.
This is what we usually do when we see a full-length mirror…
Another ‘attraction’ at the mall… =D
Mummy’s weight = 35.6kg
Mummy + Baby = 44.0kg
Baby’s weight = 44.0kg – 35.6kg = 8.4kg
Time for a quick nap… Zzzz…

We visited another library this weekend. This time we went to Seberang Jaya State Library. *happy* I think I’ve fallen in love with Penang public libraries.
Good to see that all the facilities were fully utilized.
What do I like about the libraries here?
-
Easy registration: Just go to the counter with your IC and you can get registered on the spot. You don’t even have to fill in any form.
-
The annual membership fee is only RM2 for adults and RM1 for children. As a member, you can borrow up to 4 books, 1 magazine and 1 media each time for two weeks. You can call them if you need to renew.
-
You can borrow and return books at any of the libraries. For example, I borrowed books from the Simpang Ampat Town Library last week and returned them here. They even have mini libraries in shopping complexes (AEON Jusco and Komtar). Here’s a list of the state, branch and town libraries in Penang:
